Christmas is the biggest holiday, and probably the most expensive. Since there are usually many people to buy for, cheap gift ideas for the holiday is important. Handmade gifts can be cheap, and unique. Baskets filled with the recipients favorite food is a good gift, for a man. Homemade cookies are among some of the things you can put in a food basket, along with coco or coffee to go with the cookies. For women, I have often gone to the dollar store, and filled a basket with bubble bath, bath salts, lotion, razors, and a small pedicure kit, and some nail polish. It costs less than $20.00, and takes forethought, and is personal. I have also received some baskets, with my favorite wines, crackers, and cheese in them. They were greatly appreciated.

A cheap gift idea for the holiday we know as Valentines Day is things such as Email cards, some you can get for free, and they can arrive at the persons work. Then a homemade meal the recipients favorite meal, and beverage, and a romantic evening at home will cost you less than $20.00. Giving of time and self is the key here. A homemade card with an original poem is also a cheap gift idea for the holiday. A coupon book offering a massage, or a manicure and pedicure done by you is also a cheap gift. With the coupon book you could have massage oil, or a manicure and pedicure kit. This whole gift will cost less that $10.00.

A cheap gift idea for the holiday we know as Independence Day is fairly easy. Take them to see fire works. Buy cheap sparklers, and firecrackers, they sell sets for about $10.00, at Kmart. A pic nic lunch, at the beach and a red white and blue bandana wrapping fruit to eat at the fireworks is cheap, and romantic, especially if you both wear the bandanas. Then a bonfire with marshmallows to toast is a great gift for Independence Day.

Not many exchange gifts on Memorial Day, or Labor Day, so you are clear on that one, but then comes Christmas again. So a cheap gift idea for the holiday should be in your mind so that as you are out and about, you can start shopping for Christmas early in the year. It saves money, time and stress. My sister used to have hers done by Labor Day. Going to Art Fairs and sales you can often get cheap gifts and get people what they want for Christmas.

The key to buying cheap gifts is that they don’t look cheap. That is easy if you handmade something. I have made scarves for my children, in the colors of their choice. They all wore them all the time, and it kept their necks warm in the chill of Michigan winters.
